Both lightweight and enormously durable, aluminum allows you to display your photos in vibrant color with a gorgeous contemporary aesthetic that will last for a long, long time.
Metal prints represent an exciting art medium for preserving photos by infusing dyes directly into specially coated aluminum sheets. Your images take on a magical luminescence. You've never seen a more brilliant and impressive print! Colors are vibrant and the luminescence is breathtaking. Detail and resolution are unsurpassed.
Metal prints are naturally smooth and rigid, and with a hanger attached to the back so they are ready to hang right out of the box. They also make it easy to achieve the contemporary "float" display that is the current trend in displaying artwork.
Caring for your new piece of art is simple. Prints are intended for indoor use, out of direct sun and can be expected to last in excess of 50 years. They can be cleaned gently using a clean microfiber cloth. Water will not harm the prints at all, but may leave spots when dry, (similar to washing your car, but not drying it), so have an extra dry microfiber cloth when using water. Acrylic Mounts are the most vibrant way to display your photographs. No other photographic process has the depth, vibrancy, gloss, and accuracy that an Acrylic Mount gives you. It has quickly become a favorite of high end galleries and collectors. Acrylics let you make a piece that your friends will talk about for years.
It starts with a photographic print that is face mounted to a sheet of clear acrylic. This layer of acrylic is what creates the unique qualities of an Acrylic Mount. Then a Dibond* back is added to protect the print and give the piece rigidity. An inset aluminum subframe is attached to the backer to create a float mount where the piece appears to float on the wall.
Acrylic Mounts are made with Fuji SuperGloss, the preferred choice for Acrylics sold in high end galleries like you see in Las Vegas, and gives you the same exact look.

More about Acrylics...
How do Acrylics compare with Metal Prints?
What makes Metal Prints look so good is the gloss of the polyester coating that holds the image. Acrylics have a deeper gloss effect because of the 1/8” layer of acrylic mounted to the print, which offers even more depth and vibrancy. The actual photographic prints used in making an Acrylic are sharper, hold more detail, and have more accurate color than Metal Prints can achieve.
Metal Prints are more scratch resistant, and they are not affected at all by wet environments like bathrooms. This allows Metals to be displayed in areas that are not suited to acrylics.
Like all photographic prints, Metal and Acrylic will fade if placed in direct sunlight, or bounced sunlight in south facing rooms. Incandescent or LED light will give your artwork the longest display life.
What is the difference between Acrylic Mounts and direct print acrylics?
Many labs are offering direct print acrylics where the image is printed directly on to the acrylic with a flatbed printer. While less expensive to produce, the flatbed printers used in direct print acrylics do not have the depth and vibrancy of color that comes from the photographic papers we use in our Acrylic Mounts. Our process produces the richest, most vibrant look.
PAPER PRINTS (Fuji Matte, Luster, or Gloss) --- (Fuji Metallic/Pearl - add $5 per print)
Fuji's Crystal Archive paper in a traditional matte photo paper finish.
Fuji Luster (E-Surface)
This metallic paper gives a unique glow to your photographic prints. Similar to Kodak "metallic" paper, Fuji Pearl brings the luster and depth of mother-of-pearl to your prints, with natural mica and metal oxides impregnated in the paper. It creates a look unlike traditional photo papers, which increases its impact on viewers.
Entrada Rag 290 Bright by Moab is an award-winning 100% cotton, smooth fine-art paper that helps bring your vision to print through superb ink handling and sharpness. A superb choice for Color and B&W photographs, Estrada is an archival acid and lignin-free paper with an expanded color gamut, natural contrast and high ink load. Printed with Epson Ultrachrome Inks, it produces a long lasting and beautiful print. Rag papers need to be handled and displayed with care, as they can easily scuff and scratch. This is easily my personal favorite paper.
